Finding a good birth control method for you can be difficult. Of course you can try the common methods that most people use, and they may be very effective, but what if they just don’t work right for you personally? What if they create almost as many problems as they solve?

Taking the pill introduces hormones into your body that are not naturally produced at that time and in that quantity. Doing this will most likely prevent pregnancy, but will it prevent side effects your body is likely to experience because of these hormones? That is much less certain.

Some types of natural family planning give you a system to help you determine when your fertile days are, so that you know when to avoid intercourse in order to prevent pregnancy.

The rhythm method is a very basic type of family planning that takes into account the menstrual cycle and determines which days or weeks you are fertile and which ones you are infertile. It is also called the calendar method because it gives you a specific schedule to follow.

Another natural family planning method is taught by course. It uses the same idea as the rhythm method but it is much better tailored to the individual. By observing certain signs given by the body including temperature and discharge, and recording them daily you can tell when you are fertile and when you are not. This method is very simple and is actually ninety nine percent effective, which is just the same as birth control pills.

Another benefit of this alternative birth control is that it not only controls you by preventing you from getting pregnant, it can also be used conversely to help you to get pregnant more easily when you are ready!

Although birth control pills are a very easy solution to prevent pregnancy they have some serious downsides including side effects and decreased effectiveness when not used properly. Using alternative birth control methods can provide you with the same level of protection and save you the headaches, literally!

The reproductive process is a natural one, so why not use natural alternative birth control to prevent pregnancy? It is easy to do and very effective and also can strengthen a relationship because of the periods of abstinence. After all, abstinence makes the heart grow fonder!
